There is an intrinsic value in a commodity due to its scarcity. A painting over time, if not destroyed, becomes more valuable as it stands for a creative representation of the time in which it was created.

Digital works are different. They are abundant as they have the ability to be infinately repeatable, taking up next to no space in the universe. They will live on, not because they aren’t destroyed, but because they are continuously enjoyed. Their use will be their lifeblood, not how well they are preserved.

So how do we place value on these works? What is the value of art in the 21st century when nearly everything has a digital representation?

Give is a service in which anybody can place their own value on the artists work that they love. It is an open ended Gift based system focused currently toward supplementing the fractured economies of digital music.
